Seribu Islands Administration Resquested 10 Mpbs Internet Speed Access

The provision of free internet access is in Seribu Islands Administration's Musrenbang for drafting 2016 City Budget. Considering, by providing free internet access will be a tourism promotion medium of Seribu Islands to the world wide.

Seribu Island regent, Tri Djoko Sri Margianto stated, his side is asking Jakarta Communications, Informatics and Public Relations Department (Diskominfomas) for help in order to provide free internet access 10 Mbps speed(megabytes per second) in 2016.

"We're asking Diskominfomas for help thus the internet speed in Seribu Island could be 10 Mbps and 11 islands also could get free Wi-Fi," he uttered, Tuesday (4/7).

Seribu Islands Targeted Becoming World-Wide Tourist Destination

He continued, free Wi-Fi access should be provided in 11 inhabited islands such as Kelapa Island, Panggang Island, Harapan Island, Pramuka Island, Tidung Island, Besar Island, Payung Besar Island, Pari Island, Untung Jawa Island,  Lancong Besar Island, and Sebira Island.

"Seribu Islands must have internet speed equal to the other areas in Jakarta. By this internet availability, it will be easier to promote Seribu Island as world wide destination," he expressed.

He added, in this year there will be two Telecommunication Cellular or Base Transceiver Station (BTS) towers added in Seribu Island. "This year, there will be 2 BTS towers added," he disclosed.
